HI-NRG SPECIAL


Hazel Dean and Norma Lewis:

Hazel Dean, one of today's most exciting and popular pop/dance artists, ignites Disconet's Hi-NRG special with "Love Pains".  This powerhouse rendition of the Yvonne Elliman '82 classic was produced by Phil Harding and Ian Curnow, and is the debut single from Hazel's fourthcoming album on Lisson/PWL Records U.K.  Next is Norma Lewis, who keeps the excitement going with "Surprise Me" on Tri-Coastal Records, Miami.  This new remix with additional production, was done by Danny Tenaglia and Mike Morejon.  Taking out Disconet's golden razor blade, Steven Von Blau has created a floor packing winner.

SIDE A RUNS:  8:58 at 125 BPM, and 7:01 at 126 BPM.


Paul McCartney and E.G. Daily:

Get ready to twist and shout, as Paul McCartney moves you to his hot new Capitol Records, single "Qu est le Soleil?"  This pop/house groove is sure to spark an out-of-control fire with radio and club play.  Dennis Muyet's edit is a real crowd pleaser.  "Some People" by E.G. Daily is next.  It's hard to believe it was over four years ago that E.G. Daily first appeared on Disconet (Volume 7 Program 10) with her classic "Love In The Shadows".  This exciting new house dance single on A&M Records, is sure to be a classic too.  Mike Carroll has given Disconet a knock-out, non-stop, club version of "Some People" that's a floor packer.

SIDE B RUNS:  6:58 at 121 BPM, and 7:22 at 118 BPM.


Shooting Party (Megamix) & Mark Styles:

Bonus Side 1 explodes with "I Go To Pieces" by Shooting Party.  This power driven follow up to their smash hit, "Safe In The Arms Of Love", is an out-of-the-box top selling import on Lisson Records/PWL.  This tune produced by Phil Harding and Ian Curnow (England's dynamic duo) is an instant club favorite, with radio soon to follow.  The special megamix with extended intro, a three turntable crowd screaming break, and even more surprises, will have you going to pieces.  Mark Styles, the man with the ivory touch, is next with "Summer House Beat".  This crowd movin' and shakin' electro-pop/funk instrumental is a four on the floor packer.

Lene Lovich and Ernest Kohl:

Starting off Bonus Side 2 is the always exciting and progressive Lene Lovich.  "Wonderland" is her new 12" single on Pathfinder Records, NY.  This exuberant dance tune will captivate many a dance floor, and is another stylized Lene Lovich classic.  The Disconet edit by Steven will have you in "Wonderland".  "To Save The Love" by Ernest Kohl on Wide Angle Records is next.  Get ready and hold on, 'cause this Hi-NRG tune will send your floor into a frenzy.

First Annual Hi-NRG Dance Music Awards

BEST REMIX SERVICE FOR HI-NRG PRODUCT: Disconet

As voted by the readers of "Dance Music Report", Disconet was the proud recipient of the 1988 Hi-NRG Dance Music Awards': "Best Remix Service for Hi-NRG Product".  The first annual Hi-NRG Dance Music Awards were held at The Monster, NYC on Saturday, July 15, 1989.  The spectacular evening was hosted by Casey Jones, David Diebold, and David Vella.  The worldwide popularity of Hi-NRG music was strongly demonstrated, as representatives from across the U.S.A. joined their international peers from Australia, England, Germany, and Canada.
