NEW YEAR BLASTOFF PROGRAM
Will To Power and Duran Duran:
Sparking off Disconet's new year blastoff program is "Fading Away" by Will To Power, from their self-titled debut Epic Records LP. "Fading Away" is a rhythm-charged percolating pop/dance cut that's a dream of a follow-up to their #1 hit "Say It's Gonna Rain." One of New York's exciting new editors, Mervyn "Funkmaster" Jordan, has created a non-stop explosive, blow-the-roof-off-the-house Disconet edit that's a real floor packer. "All She Wants Is" by Duran Duran on Capitol Records is next. This captivating, bass driven cut is just the latest of a string of multi-format hits for this trendsetting pop duo. The super blade with the razor blade, Dennis Muyet, has created a sizzling crowd pleasing screaming edit.

Desiderata, Luther Vandross & Melissa Rowan:
Side B starts with Desiderata's high energy interpretation of the Debbie Harry classic "Heart Of Glass." This Ian Levine production, with electrifying keyboards, driving percussion and the hypnotic, seductive vocal delivery of Desiderata, is a classic once again. One of today's leading men of soul, Luther Vandross is next. "She Won't Talk To Me" is the exciting new single and video from his platinum-plus Epic Records LP. This upbeat, percussive R&B/dance tune is sure to be a club and radio chartbuster. Wrapping up the side is "Somebody Like You" by Melissa Rowan, on Epic Records. This pop/dance tune is from the "Tapps" soundtrack; it was remixed originally by Tuta Aquino for its 12" release. Mike Carroll has created a golden razor blade edit that's sure to be a favorite with the early morning crowd.

Kelly Marie and Viola Wills:
Bonus Side One (a.k.a. Disco Diva Special) starts off with "Stealing My Time" by Kelly Marie. This out-of-the-box floor packer on Saturday Records U.K. was produced by the prolific high energy maven Ian Levine. J.R. Clements has created a turbo-charged high tech version that will have them jumpin'. Next is the Disconet Classic mix of "Stormy Weather" by Viola Wills. This classic 1982 mix by Scott Blackwell & John G. Sollas sounds as fresh and exciting today, and is sure to create a storm on your floor.
BONUS SIDE 1 RUNS: 6:34 at 134 BPM, and 11:47 at 132 BPM.
Soul Sisters Medley and Man Parrish:
Bonus Side Two starts off with "The Soul Sisters Medley." This get-down-&-party 8-song megamix of seven of today's leading ladies of soul was produced by Fax Headroom. Next is the unauthorized acid house mix of "Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don't Stop)" by Man Parrish. This unauthorized mix was done by Mike Gray of the U.K.

The Disconet Family would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We look forward to working with the old as well as the new disc jockeys, editors, artists, producers and industry people in 1989.
This program is dedicated to a friend, the legendary and loving Sylvester. His untimely passing has left a musical void to all who knew him or have danced to one of his many hits. Truly one of the original pioneers of Disco music, Sylvester was like no other; he brought magic to his music, performances, and to many he perhaps only knew for a moment. We will miss him dearly and because of him we "Can't Stop Dancing."
